ALL-NIGHT VIGIL

RUGBY ENTHUSIASTS TICKETS FOR THIRD TEST QUEUE FORMED LAST EVENING THIRTEEN HOURS TO .WAIT Thirteen hours before the doors were due to open, seven Auckland Rugby football enthusiasts arrived shortly before eight o'clock last night in front of the Queen Street shop from which tickets for the third Rugby football test between the Springboks and New Zealand are to bo available to-day. They were joined later by several others, all of them undeterred by thoughts of having to spend the night in cold weather with nothing but overcoats and rugs and the shop doorway to shelter them. The first to arrive took boxes for seats and to pass the time more quickly they had provided ■ themselves with books, magazines and playing cards, and for several hours they were to be seen by passers-by happily enjoving their posi- v

tion as first in the queue. By midnight their number had been swelled by the arrival of several more, although the line could not be compared with that which recently waited patiently for many hours in gome of the southern cities for tickets to the previous tests.

As the night advanced blankets and rugs were unrolled and the expectant ticket-holders prepared to obtain as much sleep as they could. One of them, a boy who did not seem to be more than 16, confessed that he had to be at work as soon as he could after the shop was opened at nine this morning. All of them were extremely jealous of their good position and, expressed the determination of allowing no one to enter the shop before they could.
