ELLERSLIE TRAINING FERSEN AND TYBALT FLEETWIND SHOWS SPEED Some useful gallops were recorded at EUerslio on Saturday, when tho No. 3 grass was available for galloping, the going being improved. The sand and the tan were freely used and the jumpers had the use of the hurdles in tho middle.

On the grass, Kelly (Gilchrist) ran five furlongs in 1.7 4-5, the last three in 41s. He is going along nicely and should be in good trim for spring engagements.

After running the first two furlongs in 27 4-ss, King Neptune (Green) and Glen Abb (Wiggins) completed five furJongs in 1.9 1-5. They are progressing satisfactorily and should be capable of solid efforts when next required to race. Fleetwind (Gilchrist) galloped in her best style over five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. She is doing •well and may bo improved this season. Stretto went freely over half a mile in 55 3-ss. She has been in work throughout the winter and should be in good order for the spring meetings.

Backblock (Cameron) and Pasture (Akerstein) sprinted three furlongs in 39 4-ss. Piracy, Bright Idea and Bronze Wings were bunched at the end of half a mile in 52 4-ss. These novices are making steady progress. Hot Shot (Wiggins) and Privy Seal (Green) placed five furlongs behind in 1.8 1-5, the last three in 40 3-os. They are thriving and it should not bo for lack of condition if they fail to reach the winning list early in the new season. Ivilonsa (Cameron) was in front of To Hai (Manson) at the end of five furlongs in 1.5 3-5, the last three in 40s. Kilonsa is in good order and may soon atone for her failure in the Dunedin Handicap at the Pakuranga meeting., Rainier (Ritchie) and Fidelis (Wiggius) sprinted three furlongs smartly in 38 4-ss. Gay Cavalier (OliVe) and Vaalso (Cameron) covered half a mile in 57 3-ss. s My Money (Carter) and Grand Dance (Tremain) " worked usefully over a round, running the last six furlongs in 1.26 3-5. Locknit (Tremain) covered the same ground, speeding up over the last three furlongs in 42 1-os. Land Girl (Gilchrist), Palmint (McTavish) and Teddy Boy (Williams) were in that order at the end of five furlongs in 1.7 4-5, .the last three in 40 2-ss. Land Girl has furnished nicely and Palmint and Teddy Boy are making good progress. . Ringshot (Gilchrist) and Prince Colossus (Coon) were allotted a useful working gallop over a round in 1.42 2-5. They were assisted by Roval Appellant over the last three furlongs in 41s. Bronze Lady (R. J. Feam) was not extended while running three furlongs in' 43 l-ss, and Play On (Tremain) went easily over half a mile in 565. United (Gei'nmell) placed half a mile bohind in 52 3-ss. , ' Siega (Tremain), School Song (Fearn) and Saccono (Cameron) were let off with an easy five furlongs in 1.11 4-5. Adsum (Baker) went steadily over a round in 1.55 2-5, the last six furlongs in 1.27 4-5. After running the first three furlongs in 395, Fersen (Wiggins) and Tvbalt (Gilchrist) completed six in 1.19 1-5, the best of tho morning. They looked improved as a result of their racing at the Pakuranga Hunt meeting and should make their presence felt ■at tho spring meetings. Top Star (Williams) gave a satisfactory display over four hurdles. United (Clarke), who had worked on the grass earlier, was sent over a couplo of pony hurdles and shaped well for a beginner.
