HORSES FOR NEW PLYMOUTH LIANE AND GIRL PAT ' [BY TETjEGRArn—OWN COHnESPONDENT*] WELLINGTON, Sunday , The Trcnthani trainer E. B. B. Simpson will take Liane and Girl Pat to New Plymouth. Both have been working satisfactorily. Liane was out of luck at tho Grand National meeting but she put up creditable performances against strong company. Girl Pat was tried during the winter at Hawke's Bay, but it was found she could not handle soft going. Now that tracks are improved she should begin to pay her way, as she has developed into a nice filiy. C. G. Goulsbro will probably do the riding. H. Telford lias his Wanganui candidates, Sigurd, Dehham and Dissipation, progressing satisfactorily. Sigurd is working over slightly extended journeys with a view to the Wanganui Guineas and ho is improving. Dehham is sprinting well and may soon he ready, it would not surprise to see him successful at Wanganui. Might, Free Gold and Myriam are all doing satisfactorily. Boomerang has been entered for the Avondale Cup and will probably make the trip and also run at Ellerslie. TIME IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMANCES AT EPSOM The Epsom course was in fine order for this time of the year for Saturday with tl'.e result that in most of tho events the placed horses showed good improvements on their handicaps. The fastest speed was that of Kewpie's Bond, whoso 3m 18 4-5s to win the Onohunga Handicap was a good effort.
