EMPIRE GARRISONS SOLDIERS FOR THE EAST SHIPS TO LEAVE ENGLAND (Received August 27, 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, August 20 Tho trooping season will open on September 7, when the now troopship Dunera will leave Southampton for Hongkong with naval crews and Royal Air Force drafts for the Far East stations, and with military drafts for Hongkong. Other sailings during the month will include the Somersetshire, on September 11, with tho third brigade of the Royal Horso Artillery for Egypt; tho Lancashire on September 14, with military drafts for India; and tho Novasa, on September 21, with the second battalion of tho ]3lack Watch for Palestine.

The Ncvasa will also carry families of tho first battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment to Egypt, where they will join tho battalion on its move from Palestine to Egypt. The Somersetshire will bring back from Egypt tho first brigade of the Royal Horse Artillery and is due at Southampton on October 5.

ARMY RECRUITING GOOD RESPONSE MADE (Received August 27, 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, August 26 The War Office announces that the recruiting figures for the Regular Army last week were tho best for any week during August since the year 1932. The number of recruits approved during the week was 655.
