Ernest Whitcombe, with a record aggregate for a major tournament, 132 (65, 67), is first, and his son Eldie, 133 (65, 68), next. Reginald, 134 (69, 65), is level with ljranch, 134 (67, 67), in third place. He was second to H. Cotton in the recent British Open. Charles Whitcombe scraped into the 60 who qualified with two rounds of 72.

Cheney (also of Victoria), by 6 and 5. Both players aro members of the Tasman Cup team which is going to Napier to compete against the Now Zealand team in October.
