Only 489 store sheep were offored, and for these tne v market was buoyant. Ewes with lambs made-;' from 35s 3d to 30s, and 28s for a. medium lot. Among wether hoggets nothing outstanding was yarded, and values ruled from isJS. . to 23s 2d. Ewo hoggets 26s .to-., 28s Id for medium, and 32s 30d for good empty ewes. 20s for fat and forward, and 21s for good stores. For good .wethers, woolly and forward, some fat, 338'"'4 d was obtained. PUKEKOHE HORSE FAIR [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT! PUKEKOHE, Friday About 150 working horses camo forward to-day at the second day of Alfred Buckland and Sons' spring horse fair at Pukekoho. There was again a large bench of buyers, . including ■ many from North Auckland and - the "Waikato, and there wa§ a ready demand for all sound farm workers. Prices were fully equal to ruling rates. In'two instances £55 was realised, this price being paid by Mr. E. J. Coles, of Glenbrook, for a nine-year-old bay mare from Mr. T. H. "Waite, Ngatea, and also by Mr. O. Pollock, of Pukekawa, for a three-year-old bay gelding from Mr. Georsre Carter, Bombay. A two-year-old bay gelding from Mr. G. O'Hara; Waiuku, was bought by Mr. J. Maloney, Wiri, for £54. The range of prices, was as follows: —Young and active heavy draughts, showing quality, £SO to £6sj medium to heavy, £44 10s to £49 10s; good medium ' draughts, £32 10s to £43; useful farm horses, £2l to £32; aged workers, £lO to £18; unsound and inferior horses, £2 to £7 10s.

Friday Mr. Walter "Wiikelin, of .Whangarei, reports that at his fortnisrhtly pig sale at Tangowahine more than 1200 pigs were offered to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen throughout- and prices were far in excess of recent sales. Quotations: —Medium baconers, to £3 10s 6d; large stores. £2 to £2 Gs Od; medium, £1 13s to/ £1 18s 6d; slips, £1 3s to £1 lis 6d; weaners, 15s to £1 Is 6d; breeding sows, £-1 to £6 10s: sows with litters, to £7.
