THE LEAGUE CODE

, SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP DECISION OF FINAL SERIES RICHMOND AND NEWTON MEET Considerable interest will bo taken in the final series of matches in the senior championship of the Auckland Rugby League to bo decided at Carlaw Park this afternoon. The chief fixture will be between Richmond and Newton, and a fast and exciting encounter should bo witnessed. The former side is at present leading in the competition, by one point, and it only requires a victory in this match to win the season's honours. However, it was beaten by Marist last Saturday and there is much speculation as to whether the fast-improving Newton team can prevail over its formidable opponent. Should Richmond repeat the fine form which it showed earlier in tho year, however, it should gain a well-deserved success. An attractive curtain-raiser should be provided by the Marist and Ponsonby teams. Tho chief match on the No. 2 ground will be between Mount Albert and North Shore, while Manukau and City will try conclusions in the earlier match.
