FANCY DRESS DANCE
CHILDREN AT MATAKOHE A fancy dress dance organised in connection with the Matakohe School, <vas hdld in the local hall recently.. An invitation to the children of the Paparoa, Ararda and Hukatcro Schools had been accepted and there was consequently a large gathering of youthful guests. The judges of the fancy costumes were Mrs. N. Feliwiek, Airs. D< AlacKay and Miss 1. Cliff. Prizes were awarded as follows:—Girls, 7 years and over: Gladys Bair(Turkish Lady). Boys, Manakau Mini (Alaori Chief); Best couple. Lorna 'Erne and Leslie Jenkins (Victorian lady and gentleman); most original couple, Joy O'Shea and Pat Hri.v (Darby and Joail). Girls, 6 years and under, Dusk Joiics (Fairy); bovs,. Rex Julian (Golfer). Special prize, Tiny tots: Girl, Il'is Ball (Coronation); boy, Jeffrey Julian (Little Boy Blue)
