BANKRUPTCY CASES
SHARE-MILKER'S FAILURE SUM OF £2500 OWING Several bankruptcy applications were dealt with by Mr. Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court yesterday. "This is a big bankruptcy," said His Honour, when a motion for the discharge of Richard Sanford Hodgson, of Okauia, Matamata, \ sharemilker, was brought before-him by Mr. Cleal. Mr. Cleal said the official assignee recommended that discharge should be granted subject to a suspension of three months. His Honour said the files showed £2500 owing to unsecured creditors and no assets. Apparently the bankrupt must have carried on long after lie ' was insolvent. "He had evidently been caught in the slump. "I suppose ho was like a number of others, encouraged by the legislation to hang on," said His Honour. "I don't suppose he can be blamed for doing what others were encouraged to do." His Honour granted discharge, subject to a suspension of' three months. The following were granted their discharge from bankruptcy:—Bernardo Kumarich, of Kaimaumau, fisherman {Mr. Robinson), and Hilary Mervyn Evans, of Papatoetoe, milk roundsman (Mr. Thwaites), John Fisher, of Whangarei, fisherman (Mr. Griffiths), was 'granted his discharge subject to a suspension of threo months. An application to have William MacPherson, of Auckland, retired baker, adjudicated bankrupt was granted.
