CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE
JHE ANNUAL CONFERENCE REMITS FROM AUCKLAND . Several remits were adopted by the executive council of the Auckland Chamber of < Commerce for the annual conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce at Timaru in November. The remits are:—
"That, this conference is in favour of a carefully-thougbfc-out scheme of migration." "That, while entirely opposed to Government marketing, this conference considers it essential that there should be no further extension of the system without the assent of a substantial majority of tho producers concerned." "That broadcasting over the air should be as free as publishing through the press, subject only to the ordinary press limitations and responsibilities and to the equal rights of others. That radio matters generally should be controlled by a board on which receiving licence-holders' are substantially represented."
