STAR PItONTO SHINES MUNGA TANGI GOES SOLIDLY KEWPIE'S CREST IMPRESSES' BY ABAYDOS As a result of rain on Wednesday, tlio outsido ot tlto course proper at bpsom . was slower than on Tuesday. Star Pronto returned tho best half-mile in 1.10. Other useful efforts were: Auto Machine, Munga Tangi, Kewpio's Crest, 1.11 3-5; Atarau King, 1.12; and Kewpio's Bingen, 1.12 3-5. Star Pronto (B, Dyer) had two workouts, tlio first over two miles on the cinders in 4.56. Later, on the grass, lie went a mile and a-half in 3.50, tlio last half in 1.10. Star Pronto's last half was good, as he did not gather up his speed until past tlio half-mile post.

Hillerest (1). O. .Tones) began smartly and paced evenly over a milo and a-quartor in 3.8, tho last half-mile in 1.14. Hillerest has improved with recent work, but may require a raco to become thoroughly attuned. Pink Lady (G. Patoii) went away from tho two-miles post, but was cased after going- a milo in 2.47. Argolis Moves Freely

Kaitawa (J. Geo) left the mile and a-quarter two seconds ahoad of Kewpie's Bingen (A. Bryce), Kewpio's Crest (W. C. Willetts) following three seconds later. Kewpio's Bingen took ehargo after going a mile, but in tho straight, Kewpio's Crest caiuo along fast to win running away in 3.9 3-5. Kewpio's Crest did his work resolutely. Kewpio's Bingen put up a very creditable showing to register 3.13. Kaitawa faded in tho run homo and took 3.16 3-5.

Argolis (S. M. August), who was unhoppled, ran a mile and a-half in 3.51 3-5, tho last half in 1.13 1-5. Ho has been doing his fast work freelogged, and has boon going nicely. Young Rodney (L. Laver) led Groat Chum (S. M. August) from the two miles, but the latter won comfortably in 5.16, the last half in 1.18. Great Chum, who has had a lot of free-legged work, was in hopples, and paced smoothly. Young Rodney trotted solidly, Tan John's Effort Tan John (W. Heginbotham), after going easily for half a mile, was joined by Pirate's Last (L. J, Mahonoy), who broke before reaching the mile. Tan John was eased until Pirate's Last made up his ground, but he finished strongly to scoro a comfortable run in 5,28, He trotted tho last half in 1.17. Although never fully extended, Tan John impressed by his good style. Gold Kip (W. O. Willetts) sot off to go two miles, but broke at tho end of seven furlongs. Going more steadily, ho ran tho last mile in 2.46 and tho final half in 1.20.

Charteris Bay (A. Cole) went away seven seconds before Lucky Love (W.. C. Willetts) from the mile and a-half, and, as the leader reached tho milo post in 1.25 Lucky Love sprinted up haudy "and Top Hand (S. M. August) joined issue. Charteris Bay still had charge at tho milo in 2.42, and, although Lucky Love made a determined effort in tho straight, ho finished slightly ip front in 3.57 3-5.

Lucky Love, who made up his handicap quickly, registered 3.51, running the last lialf m 1.13. He has worked with plenty of dash, although ho uppoars to stav better when free-legged than when hoppled. Top Hand ran his milo in 2.34. Parrish Belle (C. G. Lee) was not bustled while trotting a mile and a-half at a 2.40 rate. Task of Atarau King Atarau King (C. M. Morrison) was allotted a double task, going a mile and three furlongs unhoppled. Hoppled up, he was sent away with Munga Tangi (L. Laver), who shaded him with a fine dash at the finish' in 3.53 3-5.. Munga Tangi ran tho last milo in 2.31 and the half in 1.11 3-5. Atarau King ran the last half in 1.12. John's Last (D. Smith) went from the mile and a-quarter a couple of lengths in front of . Auto Machine (A. Brown), who made a sharp dash at the finish to win comfortably in 3.15 3-5. Auto Machine went the last half in 1.11i3-5. John's Last gave a creditable /display and registered 1.13 for the final half. Jewel Crest (L. Laver) worked a mile and a-quarter in 3.12 2-5, the last half in 1.15. Queenie Direct (S. M. August) completed a mile and a-quarter in 3.12. Queenie Direct has not had much hoppled work. Work on the Cinders On the cinders, which provided good footing, Handicapper (A. Bryce), unhoppled, ran the last mile and u-quarter of two miles in 3.0, sprinting the last ■half in 1.10. Petit -Jewel (W. H. Andrews) worked a milo and a-half, sprinting the last half-mile in 1.10 3-5. The Native King—Sarella maro (W. Fleming) worked a milo and aquarter in 3.3. Mandalay (D. O. Jones), after going an easy mile, worked another in 2.25 2-5. She put some dash into the last half in 1.10. Great Surprise (L. Laver) made no mistakes while trotting a milo and ahalf, the final half in 1.20. The Groat Parrish —Linnett tho Great? fillv (W. Dyer) worked smoothly over a mile and a-half unhoppled and the Maxegin—Katute filly (D. Gillard) trotted the same distance pleasingly. Roi Grande (A. Paton) and Great Guy (C. G. Lee) did strong work on the sand.

His dam is also a half-sister to Drastic, dam of Severe and Drama. Ringmaster's first crop of foals arrived last season, Mr. Currie having mated him with five mares in the first season after his arrival from England.
