TO-MOKBOW'S FIELDS

/GOOD PERFORMERS ENGAGED MANY LAST/ SEASON WINNERS SEVERAL NEWCOMERS LISTED

BY ABAYDOS

With good and well-balanced fields engaged, line feather is nil that should be required to ensure tho success of r the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting lit KpSinu to-morrow. With a few exceptions, :ttl tho horses had a good deal of racing %<it season and tho majority in fine form when tho winter meetings concluded, A feature of tho fields is tlio number of horses who were successful last season. There .are 39 winners in the eight races and this should create a wide range of speculation. Nervio's Last, with five wins, was the most consistent winner last season, and, with tlo exception of one two-miles race, his successes wero recorded at a mile and a-quarter. Kewpio's Crest, who struck good form in the winter, scored four wins,- including one in ®saddle. Several registered throo wins, namely, Kowpie's King, Impostor, Our Pe«gy, Kouworthy, Tan John, Star Pronto, Our McKinnov and Spessiva. A Meteoric Rise Our Peggy's rise was meteoric, as inside a-month she graduated from 3.43 to a 13.30 class. Star Pronto won twice at two miles and also scored at 10 fur- ■ li' Jigs, while Kenworthy was successful over throo distances.* He made rapid progress on the West Coast circuit and was in the same class as lied Flush and the brilliant U. Scott, who won two races recently at Addington. Tan John, the only visitor engagod, scored at ..Wellington, Wanganul and Palmerston North, while he also registered four seconds. Those who won two races aro Pura Bingen, Lady Fame, Swordsman, Young Rodney, King Country, Nawtou Parrish and Gold Dredge. The lastnamed won at a mile and a-quarter v ftnd two mUo£, and as sho is in tho ~Massey Memorial Handicap only, lier prospects look bright. Besides his two wins, Swordsman had a number of placed performances, and Pura Bingen won at her last two starts. Lady Fame's wins were in short races, but sho was placed at two piiles. Novice Trotter Ellotvale Newcomers who will be making their first appearance at Epsom are Kaitawa, Eliotvale "and Chili Boan. Eliotvale- is a novice trottpr by Nelson Derby^from a Bon Hommo mare, who to Nelson Bingen, sire of Nolson Derby, produced Standby, a woll-performed trotter. Eliotvale is one of I. R. Morrison's team., Chili Bean is a well-bred pacer by Jack Potts from Princess Perfection, and has had some racing experience in tho South Island. Chili Bean is trained at Mangero by C. V. Wright. An interesting feature is the representation of the successful brood mares, Kewpie and Harvest Home. Kowpio is . represented by Kowpie's King, Kowpie's Crest, Kewpio's Bond and Kewpio's Bingen. The progeny of Harvest Home aro Gtricl Hairst, Great Chum, and Musketeer. The first race is timed to start at 12 noon.
