SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL SERIES TO-MORROW RICHMOND TO PLAY NEWTON Great interest is being taken in the final scries of senior competition, matches to bo played at Oarlaw Park to-morrow under the control of the Auckland Rugby League. The results will have a considerable bearing on championship honours. Richmond, which is at present leading by a point, will play Newton in the principal attraction on the No. 1 ground, and a fast and thrilling match is anticipated. Newton has improved greatly in recent matches and its forwards should fully test the opposition, while the backs are clever with reasonable opportunities. Richmond, which suffered defeat at the hands of Marist last Saturday,, has not been playing so well as a team of late, but a return to its best form should gain it the honours. A fine curtain-raiser should be provided by) Ponsonby and Marist which is equal in second position in the championship with Mount Albert. Marist has shown (rood form recently but the. Ponsonby team is always hard to'beat under fast conditions. The chief match on the No. '1 ground is set down between Mount Albert and North Shore. This game is also likely to be very keenly contested with the former the more favoured. In fho curtain-raiser, Manukau, on form, should take the honours from City. Lower (trade competitions will be continued to-mor-row. NORTHLAND COMPETITIONS [from our own correspondent!
