MAN KNOCKED DOWN BY TAXI

NOT IDENTIFIED LAST NIGHT [BY TELEGRAPH —HI ESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Sunday Knocked down by a taxi at the corner of Lambton Quay and Molesworth Street about 9.20 to-night an elderly man who had not been identified late to-night received severe head injuries, a fractured right arm and concussion. He was taken to hospital but did not regain consciousness and died shortly after 10 p.m. It. is understood that a newspaper in the man's pocket bore the name of Bruce.
