TE RAPA TRAINING DU MAURI ER GOES FREELY TRAVELLING AGENT AMISS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Saturday The going on the course proper, 60ft. out from the rails, was holding at Te Kapa this morning, when a number of candidates with engagements at the Pukekohe, Te Awamutu and Te llapa meetings were galloped. Chief interest centred in the schooling of the jumpers. On the flat the best effort was that of the maiden, Du Matjrier. Gascyne (McLaughlin) and Precise (11. Ferguson) were associated over a section of the steeplechase country and gave a satisfactory display. They negotiated the brush at the top of the straight, the hoard fence and the brush by the seven furlongs post. ' Curlew (B. Sullivan) accomplished a similar task in pleasing style. He has been shaping well, and will not be without friends at his next start. Cadger (R. E. Thomson) and Travelling Agent (B. Sullivan) were schooled over four flights of hurdles. Travelling Agent broke down badly, tho trouble being in the near foreleg, and ho will have to be turned out.

Lucidus (J. Muir) shaped well in company with Sweep Lap over four flights, and is bearing a healthy appearance. He should strip well when required to race again. Merry Lap (McLaughlin) finished in front of La Fern me Noire (R. Ferguson) in a similar bout over hurdles. Merry Lap shaped well and finished full of running. Grand Score (R. E. Thomson) opened up an early break on General Ruse (McLaughlin), but was tiring at the completion of a schooling bout of lour flights of hurdles. Both jumped satisfactorily. The best effort oil the fiat was that of Du Maurier (Tilsley), who finished clear of Merry Moment (Bowden), Australian Star (Goulsbro), Hopalong (MclnalM, and Abbey Lass (Glading) at the end of half a mile in 545. Du Maurier shaped attractively and should strip well when required to race. Hopalong was very lame after pulling up Adalene (McKenzie) finished clear of Sergia (Glading) over six furlongs in 1.23 3-5. Adalene relished the soft going, and is in splendid order. Mangukaha (Molnally) brushed over two furlongs along the back. There was little between Bryce Street' (McLaughlin) and Tosh (McKenzie) at the end of five furlongs in 1.9. Both did their work well.

Philemup (Ozannc) was doing better than Astrid (Long) at the completion of half a mile in 555. A useful round was credited to Winlona (Thomson), who finished four lengths in front of Sinking Fund (McKenzie) in 2.9 3-5. Winlona is bearing a healthy appearance, and accomplished her work in good style. Melicent (McKenzie) was a couple of lengths clear of Merehaka (McLaughlin) and Maungakowhai (Mclnally) at the end of five furlongs in 1.10, Mel<cent, a maiden in J. Smith's stable, appears to have benefited by her racing at Wliangarei.
