IMPROVEMENTS TO ROAD

WORKS CAMPS AT KAIMAI DOMAIN AREA PROPOSAL [by telegbaph—OWN correspondent] , TAURANGA, Friday The Public Works Department has established two camps at Kaimai for men who are to be employed in the improvement of that road. Fifteen men are now at work and it is expected that about 50 men will be engaged. They will be drawn from the Tauranga district. Preference will be given to married men.

Mr. K. M. Graham, commissioner of Crown lands, the Hon. B. C. Bobbins, M.L.C., Mr. C. H. Burnett, M.P., and representatives of the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce have inspected various scenic bush lands and Crown and native-owned bush areas at Kaimai, with a view to having a domain area proclaimed adjacent to the Wairoa River, in the neighbourhood of McLaren's Falls. Mr. Graham will report on the matter in due course to the Chamber of Commerce.
