METHODIST MISSION

QUARTERLY MEETING HELD The quarterly meeting of the management board of the Methodist Central Mission was presided over by the Rev. A, Everill Orr. Progress was reported, especially in the youth work and Sunday services, which were well maintained. The social service department was able to assist those in need to the extent of £650.

It was reported that the main building at the health camp at Campbell's Bay was almost completed, but further funds were needed to complete the scheme. A number of children from an orphanage were at present receiving benefit. Electric light had been installed and a telephone v/ould be in use within two weeks. The camp would be open throughout the year. Messrs. F. Wallis and W. Wood were appointed circuit stewards and Mr. M. Souster representative to the conference which is to be held in Auckland in February. Special services were arranged for Conference Sunday, when the iiev. F. Copeland would officiate. Best wishes were extended to Sister 11. Sn'owden on her departure for England and to Mr. H. Woolford, who was moving on to wider service. THE PAPAXTJRA CIRCUIT SATISFACTORY FINANCES Satisfactory reports were received at the Papakura Methodist Circuit quarterly meeting which includes Manurewa, Homai and Wiri. The Rev. I. M. Raynor, who presided, said the finances were satisfactory and that £l5O had been raised during the quarter for circuit purposes. Special harvest festivals would be held in March and the Foreign and Home Mission work was most encouraging, the money raised being an increase on last 3'ear. Th© circuit stewards, Messrs. S. Evens and A. C. A. Sexton, M.P.. were re-elected, and Mrs. A. C. A. Sexton was elected. The circuit's representative at the conference in Auckland meetß on February 18. Mrs. Taylor j yrts appointed substitute.
