FIRE DESTROYS COTTAGE

OCCUPANTS' HURRIED EXIT YOUNG MAN SUFFERS BURNS [from our owx correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Wednesday Burns to the neck and hands, necessitating his admission to the Waikato Hospital, were received by Mr. Cyril Whittaker, aged 19. a farm hand, in » fire which destroyed a share-milker s cottage at Kiwitahi, nearMorrinsville, at 4 o'clock this morning. The cottage was one of four rooms and was recently built. One of the occupants, Mr. T. Main, got up to light the fire, and apparently used petrol instead of kerosene. An explosion followed, and the flames quickly enveloped the dwelling. . The occupants, including Mr. Whittaker, Mr. Main, Mr. T. 'SYoodndfie and the hitter's wife and two young children, were caught unawares, and had to make a hurried exit. Mr.. taker was the only one who received burns. His condition is not serious. The contents of the cottage, owned by Sir. Main and Mr. Woodridge, were totally destroyed.
