ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES

DELAY IN ADJUSTMENT LICENSING INVESTIGATION [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday It is customary after every census for tho Representation Commission, a statutory body, to adjust tho electoral boundaries according to any changes in population. Usually tho commission commences work three months after the census, but tho Statutes Amendment -Act of last session extended this period to 12 months. The Prime Minister, Mr. Savage," said to-day that the extension of time had been made so that no injustice would be done to hotel licences. It was possible that an alteration of a boundary might place a. hotel in a no-licence area, and consequently he desired that the licensing position should bo investigated before tho commission commenced work,- and thus no injustice would be done as far as hotel licences were concerned.
