ALL DAY FAIR
CHRISTMAS TREE FUND Kumeu Hall was transformed into a busy market square with its gaily decorated stalls, well stocked with household necessities, at a Paddy's Market organised by the Women's Institute in aid of the children's Christmas tree fund. Brisk business was done at the various stalls, and competitions and side-shows, which included a shooting gallery and clock croquet, helped to make the fair a great success. The gaily decorated tearoom was in charge of Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. McKenzie. The stalls were conducted by the following: Sweets, Mrs. R. Martin; cakes, Mrs. R. P. Da no and Mrs. W. E. Garry; produce, Mrs. I). Simpson and Mrs. Chitty; jumble, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Hicks; side-shows, Messrs. Wilson. Farley, Martin and Wilson, jun. In the evening a most attractive programme was arranged, which included a number of excellent items by the Helensville High School Girls' Choir, songs by Miss Gladys Wright and Mrs. J. Davcy, and a sketch by Misses Gertrude Stewart and Gladys Kipling. At the conclusion of the programme supper was served and dancing and cards were enjoyed until midnight.
