VISIT TO ENGLAND

" My advice to New Zealanders who wish to travel is to stay where they are," said Miss P. L. Bothamlcy, who returned to Auckland by tho Awatea yesterday morning. Miss Bothamlcy, who accompanied her father, Mr. A. T. Bothamlcy, member of the Empire Parliamentary Association, on a five months' visit to England, said that although she had greatly enjoyed her visit abroad it actually made her appreciate New Zealand more. Miss Bothamley said she had seen a great deal of the English countryside, and had visited Surrey, Sussex, Cornwall and Devonshire, all of which were very beautiful and possessed some wonderful old homes. She had found true, however, the saying that England has 110 weather, only climate, lor tlie summer was marred almost always by clouds and rain. London was very fiill of visitors and hold many attractions of interest to holiday-makers and tourists. During her stay abroad Miss Bothamlcy made a hurried visit to Paris, which she described as one of the most fascinating cities she knew. Tho city itself was very beautifully laid out and was kept spotlessly clean, while the shops and restaurants possessed and radiated an atmosphere of brightness and efficiency and that "something different," which existed nowhere else.
