Captain P. Darroch is in command of the Wanganella while Captain G. Bates is on leave. He has been f or some time captain of the Westralia, on the Australian coastal . service, and recently brought out the new Huddart Parker steamer Adelong from England to Australia.
Dr. Hr?len T)een. of Nelson, has been appointed to the staff of Dr. R. B. Turbott. district officer of health, Hamilton. Dr. Deen will be a medical inspector of schools and will assist Dr. Turbott in general hygiene administration. Dr. Deen recently returned to the Dominion from overseas.
Mr. W. A. Hislop, general manager in New Zealand for the Universal Film Manufacturing Company, Mr. B. Allen, New Zealand manager for United Artists (Aust.), Limited, and Mr. C. James, representative of MetroGold wyn-Mayer, returned from Sydney by the Wanganella yesterday.
