FANCY DRESS BALL
A most successful plain and fancy dress ball was held at the Ritz Cabaret on Friday evening to entertain the visiting basketball teams, who were visitors to Rotorua in connection with the llotorua Basketball Associations annual tournament. The first prize for the best basketball set was won by the Wellington team. A special prize was awarded to the Central Hawke s Bay team (Culinary arts), and the Rotorua team (Bob. Simple's Transports Bored) Other competing teams were Central Hawke's Bay B team (Chinese ladies), and Te Awamutu (Guaranteed p r j ces —before and after). Ihe nrst prizes for the best fancy dress went to Miss G. Montgomery (Spanish dancer , and Mr. D. Young (Basketball results). The best humorous and burlesque costume was won by Miss McLean (Departed Spirits). The judges were Mrs. A. E. Moore and Mr. W. H. King.
