BIBLE PROPHECIES
"HUMAN RULE NEARS END" ADDRESS BY REV. DR. GOARD Prophecies concerning world affairs to-day through the light of the Scriptures were dealt with by the Rev. Dr. W. Prtscoe Goard, deputy-president of the British-Israel World Federation, London, during his first public address in New Zealand, delivered to a packed audience in the Auckland Town Hall last night. Relating tho downfall of empires throughout history, Dr. Goard quoted Scripture coinciding with each event. He said it was prophesied that when the empires fell and emperors disappeared, men would receive the powers of kings without kingdoms. Tliev were called dictators.
"Each of their groups is armed to tho teeth, organised for war," Dr. Goard continued. "And because Britain disarmed when her Ministers felt they could overcome the evils by doing so, the subjects of the British Km pi re are liko flocks of sheep in tho midst of wolves. How long will this continue?" l)r. Goard said a change was coming. War was predicted in the Scripture: "And tlieso shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them." The Lamb was to be the subject of attack from the militaristic nations, but Israel would be with Him. The time of human rule on earth was ending. Weeping over tho fall of Babylon, of which the British Empire was now the equivalent, sounded near, and Heaven was rejoicing. The date could not be determined this year, next vear, or within 10 years, but the world had certainly entered tho period of tho prophecy's fulfilment. "We must save our Empire through heart union and fellowship with God," said the lecturer in conclusion. Mr. F. B. An von, of Wellington, deputy-president of tho New Zealand branch of the British-Israel World Federation, presided.
The Rev. Mr. Griffiths opened the meeting with prayer, and Miss Brook contributed as a vocal solo, "The Lord is My Light."
