SEVEN TRIES SCORED
HAMILTON BEATEN BY AUCKLAND Seven tries were scored by Auckland Grammar School against Hamilton High School, five of them being converted by tho fullback. Garrutt. In spite of the rather heavy ground the Grammar backs repeatedly figured m spectacular movements, handling and passing tho ball accurately, and showing a fine understanding of one another's play. A great strain was thus placed upon the Hamilton defence, yet the visitors were frequently troublesome, the forwards particularly otTerinjt stout resistance. The opposition of the Hamilton team, which gained two tries, one of which was converted, was among tho hardest experienced by Grammar this season, the latter team's good fortune in having thrust fill inside bucks was again demonstrated. Gilmore and Jackson each scored two tries for Grammar, the remaining three being gained by Clear,v, Marriott and Rridgens. The two Hamilton tries were obtained by \\ lies and Shaw, one being converted by Patterson. Mr. E. J. Cichero was referee.
