• TEAM FOR NEW ZEALAND i Received July 12, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 12 The Rugby Union team for New Zealand will not be announced until after the meeting of the management committee on Monday night. MARLBOROUGH BEATS NELSON [BY TELEGKAI'H —PRESS ASSOCIATION] BLENHEIM, Sunday In a match characterised hy dour forward battling, relieved by only occasional flashes of combined back plav. Marlborough defeated Nelson for the second time this season, scoring 29 points against 12. The conditions were ideal, but tho presence of tho All Black selectors, Messrs. A. A. Adams and J. T. Burrows, evidently gave the players stage fright, as tho exhibition was below provincial standard. The packs were evenly matched, R. Woolley and Mcßryde being outstanding for Marlborough and Lovell and McLean for Nelson. Bythell and Robinson were a good pair at five-eighths for (he winning team, but Nelson was quite without penetrating backs, a fact which largely accounted for its defeat. Marlborough's points came front good back movements that, however, were staged only in spasms. Tries for Marlborough were scored by Kotua (2), R. Woolley (2). Mcßryde, McMahon and Barnett, Masters converting four. Newman kicked three goals and McLean scored a try for Nelson. BULLER AND WEST COAST DRAW [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] WESTPORT, Sunday A Rugby match for the Rundle Cup was played at Victoria Square yesterday afternoon in fine weather and beforo a largo attendance, between Buller (holder) and West Coast. It ended in a draw of three points each—a penalty goal by Stewart for Buller and a try by Pfahlert for West Coast. The ground was on the heavy side and play generally was of a drab order, the forwards playing vigorously, but tho backs lacking the sparkle of the earlier game at Greymouth. West Coast had a territorial advantage, but Buller was more penetrativo. King, Kirkwood, Olsen and Scandrett (forwards) and Hendry, Mann and Pfahlert (backs) wore the best players for West Coast, with Orman, C'orrie, Mason and Easton (forwards) and Hill, Stewart, Strachan and Hanscombo (backs) tho best for Buller.
