SENIOR GRADE CONTESTS MATCHES IN SECOND ROUND SEVERAL CLOSE DECISIONS The second round of the Auckland football Association's first division championship was continued on Saturday, when several interesting games were witnessed. Mount Albert Old Boys retained its lead in the competition by defeating Comrades in tho principal contest at Blandford Park. The game was well contested, and the winners had the narrow margin of ono goal. North Shore got the better of Thistle in the match at Devonport, winning by the odd goal in seven. Ponsonby and Metro-College both fielded weakened teams at Western Springs, the latter taking the decision. Following were the results: — Mount Albert Old Boys, 3; Comrades, 2. North Shore, 4; Thistle, 3. Metro-College, 2; Ponsonby, 1.
