INQUIRY BY MAGISTRATE HEARING OPENS TO-DAY ■ ' An inquiry into the validity of tbe loan poll recently held by Glen Eden Town Board will be held before Mri Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day. After the poll, which was on a proposal to raise £3500 for a new town hall, it was announced that 110 votes were cast for the proposal and the same number against it. However, after a recount the returning officer announced that one of the votes against the proposal was informal and that the poll was therefore carried by 110 votes V 109. The method of conducting the pow was strongly criticised at a meetinglof ratepayers, yith the result that a petition was made for a magisterial in* quiry.
