NIAGARA DELAYED

STORM IN TASMAN SEA ARRIVAL TIME UNCERTAIN POSSIBLY A DAY LATE Although the weather continued fine at Auckland during the week-end the conditions were very strong in the Tasman Sea and off the northern coast of New Zealand. The Royal Mail liner Niagara was scheduled to arrive from Sydney about seven o'clock this morning, but she has been delayed by T bad weather and the time of her arrival is uncertain.

A wireless report received from the vessel yesterday stated that she was encountering a severe south-east gale and high seas and it was doubtful if she would arrive to-night. The vessel has passengers, mail and cargo for Auckland, and passengers for ports beyond. She was scheduled to resume her voyage to Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver at 11 a.m. to-morrow, but owing to the delay her sailing has been postponed until 5 p.m.
