BRIDGE PARTY
FOR BENEFIT FUND With the object of making it possible for Miss Althea Parker to have one year's dramatic training in England, the Althea Parker Benefit Fund has been opened by the Diocesan Old Girls' Association. Miss Parker has been generous in giving the benefit of her outstanding talent to the many dramatic societies of Auckland, and it is hoped that they will support the effort that is being made on her behalf. The organising committee comprises Mrs. G. J. S. Fisher (president), Miss E. R Edwards, Miss M. Earl, Miss J. Wilson, Miss J. Edwards, Miss J. Hudson and Miss N. Lush.
The first function to be organised by tho committee was a largely-attended bridge party held in the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall yesterday afternoon.
The hostesses who had arranged tables were: Mrs. F. J. Gwynne, Mrs. W. H. Key-Jones, Mrs Latter, Mrs. Dignan, Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Bruce Mackenzie, Mrs. J. Macky, Mrs. Shuttleworth, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Porter, Miss Barbara Bates, Miss June Beale, Miss Dulcie Boucher, Miss Collard, Miss Molly Stevenson, Miss Joyce Sheath, Miss C. Morris, Miss J. Moody, Miss Jocelvn Miller, Miss Gayne, Miss Evelyn Ford, Miss Gladys Holman, Miss Joan Hudson, Miss Irene Isaacs, Miss Kent, Miss Molly McGechie.
