NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS SARAZEN'S PROPOSED VISIT A letter was received from the New Plymouth Golf Club at the last monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association inquiring the date on which the Dominion championships would commence, and also the date of the Australian championships and of Gene Sarazen's proposed visit to New Zealand. It was resolved to reply that, as far as could be seen at present, the date for the Dominion championships would be October 15, or possibly October 22. The Australian open championship would be from September 21 to October 2, and Sarazen would leave for New Zealand immediately afterward. A resolution passed tit a special meeting of the council regarding inter-area mutches was confirmed to the effect that, as the competition is not generally acceptable to clubs, the council would not go further into the matter until it had established local associations, a scheme which it was hoped to bring up at the next general meeting of the association. , The following new -clubs were elected members of the association:—Broadwood Club, Buckley Club.
