WAIPU CLUB'S OPENING [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday Although the weather was unfavourable, the official opening of the season of the Waipu Golf Club wns most successful, a number of visitors being present from other clubs. The president, Mr. J. C. McKay, welcomed the visitors, and Mr. Cannon, of the Huarau Golf Club, thanked the Waipu Club for its hospitality. Mrs. J. C. McKay hit off the first bull, and declared the links open for play. A mixed foursome match was played, the best card being returned by Cliff and Mrs. D. N.
