SYNTHETIC PETROL
GERMAN COMPANY'S CLAIM ONE-THIRD CHEAPER COSTS BERLIN, April 26 The Wintershall Company, Germany's largest potash enterprise, claims the discovery of a process by which synthetic petrol can be produced at a cost one-third cheaper than by other methods. It involves the application to lignite of a process employed for hard coal. A company with a capital of £41,500 will exploit the invention and expects an annual output of 50,000 tons.
