CROQUET

CLUB FORMED AT KUMEU The residents of Kumen met in the Pomona Hall and decided to form a croquet club for the district. Mr. J. Lambden, who presided, said that tho need of a club in tho district was great, there being no club between Helensville and Henderson. SVorkihg bees will meet each Saturday to clear the two acres of land , adjoining tho Pomona Hall, nnd later to form tho courts. There is every prospect of tho courts being ready to play upon by December next. During the yt'ar social gatherings will bp arranged to assist tho funds. The election of officers resulted sident, Mr. H. Barter: secretary and treasurer, Mrs. J. Lambden; committee. Mesdames Cooke, Sherwood, Farley, A. Pearman, J. A, Wilson and Lambden, Messrs. Pearman, jun., Sherwood, Fidd, Barter and J. Lambden.
