WEDDING

WALTON—RICKET The wedding took place at St. John's Church, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday, of Miss Constance Ellis Ricket, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Ricket, of To Awamutu, to Mr. John James Walton, only son of Mrs. A. B. Walton and the late Mr. S. B. Walton, of Mount Eden, Auckland. The Rev. 11. J. Boy t, vicar of Frank ton, assisted by the Rev. S. It. Wareing, performed the ceremony. The church had been charmingly decorated with autumn-shaded flowers and foliage by the bride's friends, and Miss S. Empson played the wedding music. A gown of magnolia Tara satin was worn by the bride, who entered the church with her father. The corsage was fashioned with sleeves puffed to the elbow and close-fitting to the wrist, and a Vshaped neckline finished with a fine band of net applique. The skirt, which was cut on flowing lines, fell to form a graceful train of satin and net, appliqued with a flower design studded with rhinestones and embroidered with silver and crystal beads. Her veil of embroidered net, which formed a secondary train, was worn with a net halo and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream rosebuds and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Margaret Ricket, Miss Jean Walton. Miss Valder Ricket and Miss Doreen Sanford (Hamilton). They were dressed alike in frocks of honey and gold-spotted taffeta, with halo hats in the same shade. They carried bouquets of chrysanthemums, roses and fern. The flower-girls were Beverley Ricket and Rosalie Ellis, who wore ankle-length frocks of honey and gold-spotted taffeta, and carried miniature bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. A. L. Furness, as best man, anil Mr. R. H. Lord (Auckland), Mr. G. A. Johnstone (Waitetuna) and Mr. N. L. Lempriere (Hamilton) wero the groomsmen. _ Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where the rooms and a large marquee were arranged with bowls of autumn-shaded flowers and foliage. To receive her guests Mrs. Ricket wore an ensemble in brown crepe marooain relieved with beige georgette and braiding. Her hat of brown felt was finished with bird of paradise feathers and a shoulder spray of red roses was worn. Mrs. Walton, 'mother of the bridegroom, was in a suit of navy blue rocana and matching hat with ostrich feathers. Furs were also worn and she carried a posy of pink rosc-s, carnations and fern.
