LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Mannrewa. —An interesting meeting of the branch was held in the Town Hall at Mannrewa, Mrs. Sheldon presiding. Several members gave short talks on places they had visited. Mrs. Haughey spoke of the Picton Sounds, and Mrs. Perkins described a camping trip to Cambridge, Arapuni and Rotorua, and Mrs. Hood spoke of the Waitomo Caves. Mrs. Collie described some wonderful churches she had seen at Marseilles, a Greek ehnrch in Italy and several others, and Mrs. McCallum spoke of Wanganui and Otira. There was some community singing and a short talk by Mrs. W. Johnston, of Mt. Albert, on Red Cross work. The meeting closed with afternoon tea provided by Mesdames Phillips, Nicholson, Collie, Coppins and Duncan. Hamilton. —The Hamilton branch held its monthly meeting recently, Mrs. W. Fraser presiding over an excellent attendance. Sister Hobbs, deaconess in the Kawhia district, gave a talk on her work among the Maori women and girls. Miss Queenie Moko, of Kawhia, and Miss Molly Kereopa, of Raglan, sang duets in Maori, and Miss Moke performed poi dances, which were greatly appreciated by all present. Afternoon tea hostesses were Mrs. F. J. Moore, Mrs. Shaw, Mrs. Westwater, Mrs. Cracknell, Mrs. A. Fow and Mrs. Pollard.
