MIDDLEMORE COURSE SCRATCH SCORE REDUCED Owing to Anzas Day falling last Saturday there were no competitions held at Middlemore. Advice has been received from th? New Zealand Golf Association that the standard scratch score at Middlemore has been reduced to 72. Consequently the handicap of every player has been moved up by one stroke. This stroke has been taken off the card at the second hole, which will now be a four, and will make bogey 3< out and 35 in. AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB OPEN DAY AT MIDDLEMORE An open day for senior players was held at Middlemore on Friday, when about 50 players took part in a medal competition in the morning, followed by a boirey foureomes match in the afternoon. There was a large attendance of players, including visitors from the Mount and Otamarakau. In the absence of Mr. W. E. Hookey, president, the opening ceremony was performed by Mr. W. Dickson, vice-president. A mixed foursomes match Tvas played over 12 holes and was won by Mr. E. Hargreaves and Mrs. D. Georgo.
