CHAIN STORES
COMPETITION QUESTION NEW SOUTH WALES INQUIRY SYDNEY, April 23 The Government of New South Wales has decided to hold a public inquiry into the operations of chain stores. The inquiry will be conducted by the Industrial Commission, which will investigate the ramifications of the stores, the conditions under which they operate, and the effect of their operations on the community. The Minister of Labour, Mr. J. M. Dunningham, has agreed to confer with representatives of the employers and employees in the storekeeping business in an endeavour to arrive at a solution of the problem of the unequal competition of chain stores.
