KING'S SURPRISE VISIT
BIRTHDAY GIFT TO NIECE DINNER WITH THE QUEEN (Received April 23, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, April 22 The King, who was prevented by other engagements from attending Princess Elizabeth's 10th birthday party at Windsor yesterday, paid a surprise visit to his niece to-day. The King s present to the Princess was a goldmounted riding crop. His Majesty dined with Queen Mary and the Duke and Duchess of York oefore proceeding to his country home, Fort Belvedere, where he spent the night.
