SEAMAN'S DEATH
body not recovered DIVER'S PROLONGED SEARCH In a further effort to locate the body of Mr. Jack McMillan, the seaman who was drowned when he fell into the water between Prince's Wharf and the motor-ship Limerick at about midnight on Monday, the police yesterday afternoon enlisted the services of a Harbour Board diver. Although the diver remained under the water for most of the afternoon, no trace was found of the body'. The sea bed at the side of the wharf is particularly soft and muddy and visibility as a result was poor. It is considered likely that the body has been carried away from the vicinity of the wharf by currents. No further attempts will be made to locate it.
