FACTORIES' ACT
EMPLOYERS CONCERNED MEETING TO BE HELD A serious view is taken by Auckland employers of certain clauses of the Factories Act Amendment Bill, and for the purpose of discussing the matter fully, a special meeting of the Employers' Association is to be held on Monday. The executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce will also give special consideration to the proposed changes. Some concern has been expressed by Auckland employers regarding various clauses of tlie bill. Particular attention is to be given at the meeting on Monday to the clause placing the onus on the employer of proving that any dismissals of employees, following the introduction of the 40-hour week nnd the restoration of cuts, are not victimisation reprisals.
