CROQUET AFTERNOON
WHANGAREI CLUB A delightful afternoon was spent on tlio Whangarei Croquet Club's lawns on Thursday, when the president, Mrs. G. H. Morrish, held an At Home. Progressive croquet was played during the first part of the afternoon, tho prizes being won by Mrs. R. Laurie, A grade, Mrs. \V. Del a more, B grade. Mrs. D. McLeod was awarded the consolation prize. An animal study competition was won by Mrs. K. Halliday. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, where the tables were decorated with bowls of dahlias. Mrs. E. N. Boult, the oldest member of the club, expressed tho members' appreciation of tlio enjoyable afternoon provided by the president. Among those present were: —Mrs. K. Radcliffe, Mrs. L. Baigent, Mrs. E. N. Boult, Mrs. T. H. Wilson, Mrs. C. Bisset, Mrs. J. McLeod, Mrs. K. Halliday, Mrs. G. S. B. Morrison, Mrs. T. R. Caplin, Mrs. W. J. Whitmore, Mrs. C. Coote, Mrs. N. Powell, Mrs. R. Laurie, Mrs. A. McPhee, Mrs. M. Council, Mrs. R. Movie, Mrs. G. I'. Lornie, Mrs. W. Delamore, Mrs. McGregor, Mrs. R. H. Harrison, Mrs. F. Nutsford, Mrs. C. H. G. Hedditch, Mrs. D. X. McLeod, Mrs. J. W. Morton.
