WEDDING
MARTIN—WILKIE An exceedingly pretty Easter ■wedding took place at St. Mark's Church, Remuera, last week when Alargaret, eldest daughter of Air. and Airs. W. A. Wilkie, of Penrose, was married to Alison Rossmore, only son of Mr. and Airs. A. A. Martin, Arney Road, Remuera. Girl friends had decorated the church with hydrangeas and masses of pink and white flowers, and from a festooned archway hung a beautiful floral bell of palest pink and white. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a close fitting frock of deep parchment lace over palest pink, with long sleeves and high cowl lieeklillC. At the knees the frock flared out into a very long and graceful oval petalled train. From a small halo headdress of orange buds fell a foam of parchment tulle slightly longer than the train and forming a second train. A bouquet of cream roses and bouvardias, with touches of pink, was carried. Hand-in-hand immediately behind the bride followed the tiny Croft twins, Alar ion and Jim, the former wearing a short frock of knife-pleated parchment georgette, and the latter a suit of the same material with kilted skirt frills. Alisscs Ruth and Barbara Wilkie, the bride's sisters, were the bridesmaids and wore slightly trained frocks of powder pink lace and georgette and large hats of stitched pink georgette with shallow transparent crowns. They carried bouquets of shaded cream and pink roses. The best man and groomsman were Alessrs. Jack Stcdman and Alan Goldie, and the ushers were Alessrs. Keith Purchas, Vincent Rice and Richard Linnell. After the ceremony Air. and Airs. Wilkie held a reception at their home, " Northcste," Penrose. The guests were received at the entrance hall and passed on to the drawing-room where the wedding party was grouped. Afternoon tea was served in a large marquee on the lawn. Airs. Wilkie wore a black georgette frock and black hat and she carried a bouquet of deep crimson carnations. Airs. Martin was in navy and white figured georgette with navy hat and carried a bouquet of deep cream roses. Mrs. V. E. Rico (grandmother of tho bride) wore black chiffon velvet with coat of fringed corded silk and black feathered toque; Airs. C. Al. Croft (sister of the bridegroom), green frock with cream shoulder spray and green hat; Mrs. J. E. Linnell, navy ensemble, navy hat. Later Air. and Mrs. Ross Martin left on their honeymoon, the latter travelling in a smart tailored navy suit with small navy hat and grey squirrel fur.
