OLD GIRLS' REUNION ANNUAL BALL HELD The gymnasium hall of the Nga Tawa School, Marton, was transformed with colourful and effective decorations on Friday night when the annual Old Girls' ball was held in conjunction with the annual reunion. Streamers in the four house colours of green, purple, orange and blue cascaded from the ceiling of the hall to the walls, on which were hung the house banners and shields. Virginia creeper was twined round the doorways and along the orchestral dais, while baskets of dahlias and Faster lilies were arranged on the stage. Easy chairs placed before two blazing fires added a cosy note to the scene. Supper was served in the diningroom, where hot-house plants were arranged along the walls and vases of holly and dahlias on the tables. For those who did not dance, bridge tables were set out in two of the house studies.

On arrival the guests were received by the principal of the school and president of the Old Girls' Association, Miss E. H. K. Mitchell, who wore a leaf-green frock of woollen material and carried a bouquet of autumntinted flowers which had been presented to her by the old girls. Miss Mitchell was assisted by the school prefects. On Saturday afternoon a tennis match was held between the past and present pupils. An entertainment was presented, by the Feilding old girls in the evening when the annual old girls' supper was also held. During Sunday afternoon the house mistresses were at home to the old girls.
