BIRKDALE DRAMATIC CLUB
The annual general meeting of tlio Birkdnlc Amateur Dramatic Club was held in Brighton Hall, Birkdale, recently, under the presidency of Mr. D. S. B. Squire. The report showed that a very interesting and successful programme had boon carried through last vear, the club's public performances being given to large and appreciative audiences 011 six occasions. In addition to this, 25 readings of plays had been given during the fortnightly evenings. The club's artistic standard of production bad been maintained at a high level, thanks to the enthusiasm of Mr. W. S. Garrett, Mr. J. Payne and others. The finances were in a sound condition. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr. W. S. Garrett, vice-presidents, Mr. D. S. B. Squire and Mr. J. Payne; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Hubball; committee, Mrs. J. H. Reich, Miss A. Berry, Miss W. Jewell and Messrs. R. McGregor, R. Wallace and F. Schorman. The new season will open with a social.
