PHARMACY TEST
THE SYSTEM OF MARKS A report concerning pupils studying for the "Pharmacy B" examination was received at a meeting of the Seddon Memorial Technical College board yesterday from the principal, Mr. G. J. Park. It was stated that the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand allowed 10 per cent additional marks in the examination to those students who enrolled for a correspondence course conducted under the auspices of the Pharmacy Board. Mr. Park emphasised that the policy meant that pupils' who could afi ord the heavy fee for tuition were assured of 10 per cent additional marks, while the students of the college were penalised to that extent, although they carried out a practical course of work in botany and chemistry under highly-qualified tutors. It was decided to approach the Minister of Education :in the matter.
