STUDENT ENROLMENTS
AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY TOTAL OVER A THOUSAND A comparison of the total student enrolment figures at Auckland University College this year with those recorded at the corresponding time last year indicates a definite increase in the numbers, but a closer anajysis shows that the relative position is much the same. The total so far this year is 1023, as compared with 956, but this year the figures in the engineering department have been completed earlier than they were last year, this making a difference of about 50 added to this year's total. The number of Training College students taking classes at the university has increased from 135 to 227. The figures for the various faculties are as yet only approximate, but so far they show an increase in arts and in architecture, and small decreases in science and commerce. The figures for law, music and medicine remain about the same.
