THROWN OUT OF CAR
BROTHER AND SISTER HURT COLLISION ON NORTH ROAD Thrown from the motor-car in which they were travelling after it had collided with another vehicle, a brother and sister were admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday night suffering from head injuries and concussion. They were Raymond Sadgrove, aged 16, of 39 Mount Albert Road, Mount Albert, chocolate mixer, and Rona Sadgrove, aged ]B, single, of the same address, boot machinist. The condition of neither of them is serious. The couple were passengers in the rear seat of an old model touring car driven by Mr. Hoe Murphy, of 165 Hobson Street, which was proceeding toward the city along the Great North Road through Point Chevalier. A fourth passenger, Mr. Roy Hunt, of New Bond Street, Kingsland, also was in the car. The machine was turning round close to the Returned Soldiers' Dance Hall when it was struck by a Checker delivery waggon, driven by Mr. John Mitchell, of 24 Anglesea Street, Ponsonby, travelling from the city. The vehicles met with considerable force and the two rear scat passengers in the touring car were thrown through the off-side side curtain on to the road. Nobody else was injured, but the car was damaged extensively. The truck suffered comparatively minor damage.
