DR. HUGO ECKENER
ALLEGATIONS DENIED ATTITUDE TO • HERR HITLER (Received April 12, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. April 11 The Friedrichsbafen correspondent of the Daily Mail states that Dr. Hugo Eckener, commander of the Graf Zeppelin, said he was going to Berlin immediately in order to end the move to discredit him. " It is a distortion of the truth to say I did not toast Herr Hitler," said Dr. Eckener. " I toasted 'Herr Hitler and Germany.' lit regard to the assertion that I declined to allow the new airship to be named the Hitler, it was an official of the Air Ministry who suggested the name, and Herr Hitler himself rejected the proposal."
