CYCLE RACE MISHAP
CHILD STRUCK BY MACHINE CONDITION REPORTED SERIOUS Struck by a bicycle at the conclusion of a race at a sports gathering at Warkworth on Saturday, William John Edgerley, the three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Edgerley, of Warkworth, was seriously injured, and was later admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from a fractured skull.
The mishap occurred at the end of the three-miles cycle race, and the riders were starting to pull up after passing the finishing line when the child ran across the track and collided with a machine ridden by J. Bicknell. He was brought to the hospital in his father's car. The cyclist escaped with minor bruises.
